Riverside police reported Monday they had arrested the man suspected of robbing a 19-year-old Berwyn man during an alleged drug deal in the driveway of a home in the 500 block of Longcommon Road on March 31.
Juan M. Infante, 25, of Oak Lawn, was charged with one count of aggravated armed robbery with a firearm.
According to police, the victim waited about 45 minutes before reporting the robbery, and police were unable to locate a suspect that day.
However, police learned that the victim had ordered cannabis and LSD from a drug dealer on Snapchat.
The two agreed to meet at the home of the victim’s girlfriend in Riverside. When Infante showed up, he allegedly robbed the victim at gunpoint inside a car that was driven to the location by a juvenile.
Prior to arresting Infante, police say they were able to identify two other people involved in the incident and on April 1 arrested two Lyons residents, a 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man. Because neither actually committed the robbery, according to police, the Cook County State’s Attorney refused to charge them.
Riverside police along with officers from the suburban Major Case Assistance Team (MCAT) obtained a warrant for Infante on April 3. Three days later, Oak Lawn police arrested him and turned him over to Riverside detectives.
Felony for driving while revoked
A 38-year-old Maywood man was charged with felony driving while revoked and cited for a traffic violation after he reportedly turned left into oncoming traffic at the intersection of Maple Avenue and 31st Street, crashing into a vehicle driven by a Willowbrook woman on April 12 at 7:20 p.m.
No one was injured, but witnesses reported that Keith A. Hilderbrand did not have the right of way when he turned left from westbound 31st Street onto Maple Avenue, causing the crash.
According to police, Hilderbrand’s driver’s license had been suspended from a drunken driving arrest and eight prior convictions for driving while revoked. One of those convictions, police said, was for driving while revoked-reckless homicide.
Road rage
A 35-year-old Brookfield woman went to police on April 12 after being involved in an apparent road rage incident with a man at the Veterans Memorial Circle that day about 11:10 a.m.
The woman told police that as she negotiated the circle, a man in his 60s, driving a black Lexus began tailgating her and giving her a middle-finger salute. The man continued to tailgate her as she drove southbound on Grand Boulevard, where she stopped the car and got out to confront him.
The black Lexus drove past her, and the woman drove home. But the Lexus reappeared and the driver slowly cruised past, giving her the middle finger as she was walking to her residence.
Concerned the driver of the Lexus knew where she lived, the woman got a photo of the vehicle and contacted police to document the incident. Police attempted to contract the owner of the Lexus, a Lyons resident, without success.
Suspicious incident
A Brookfield mom called police on April 9 about 8:40 p.m. after her daughter, a juvenile, told her that an unknown man had taken a picture of her outside of her home in the 4000 block of Park Avenue.
The girl told police she was out front when a man walking on the east side of the street stopped, raised his phone, pointed it at her and then touched the screen as if taking a photo of her.
According to the girl, the person was a white male in his late 40s, about 5-foot-6, with a gray-and-white beard, little to no hair on his head and wearing jeans and a college sweatshirt with red lettering.
Police said they would canvass the area and create a special watch.
I’d like to donate these bullets
North Riverside police responded to Goodwill, 1900 Harlem Ave., on April 3 about 10:20 a.m. after a supervisor called to report that someone had donated 21 rounds of .38-caliber ammunition to the resale store.
The supervisor said it wasn’t clear when the ammunition was donated, but it was found by an employee that day. Police took possession of the ammunition, which was to be destroyed.

Unless otherwise indicated, anybody named in these reports has only been charged with a crime. These cases have not been adjudicated.
