Louis Mesick, 90, of Joliet and formerly of Avon Park, Florida, died on Oct. 25, 2019. Born on May 1, 1929, Mr. Mesicke served in the U.S. Air Force and later worked as a die maker in the manufacturing industry. 

Mr. Mesick was the husband of the late Jane Mesick; the father of Donna (Rick Jones) Carter, Anita Lanute, Kerry (Karen) Mesick, Scott Mesick, Brent (Angie) Mesick, Glenn (Dory) Mesick and the late Louis R. Mesick; the stepfather of Cynthia (James) Thomas, Douglas (Cyndi) Whitt, Charles (Cecelia) Whitt, Jr., Christina (Andrew) Fortune; the grandfather of 31 and great-grandfather of 26; the brother of the late Mary Rose Dockweiler and Francis (the late Ilse) Mesick; and the uncle of Sylvia (Bob) Lindecker , Gene (Elizabeth) Mesick and Mark (Maria) Mesick. 

Visitation is on Monday, Nov. 4 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 31st St. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 10 a.m. at St. Louise de Marillac Church in La Grange Park. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
