The village of Riverside recently got a little bit of love from the state's tourism bureau with the inclusion of a nice historical/promotional piece about Riverside titled "Riverside: Frederick Law Olmsted's Illinois Masterpiece" on its website.

The Riverside American Legion Post #488 has announced that one of its own, Don Farnham, will be honored for his service on the ice at the United Center during the National Anthem prior to the Chicago Blackhawks' game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m.

The Riverside Fire Department invites residents of the village and surrounding communities to a 9/11 memorial ceremony, which will take place Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 9 a.m. at Riverside's main fire station, 31 Riverside Road.
