Over the decades Brookfield has lost a number of fine businesses such as bakeries and free-standing butcher shops. There is a limited pool of local customers. Currently, Brookfield has Mary's, Tony's and Broadway Pancake House. While I wish the Grand Blvd. pancake house well, I hope that they are unique enough so old and new breakfast-oriented restaurants can survive.

Great News! Long overdue and just in time for the new school year. This can only help to keep our kids safe while near that intersection. Nice job, Chief Weitzel!

Interesting. Too bad no one can help with the dna. The bones must have living relatives somewhere

From North Riverside Fire Department Local 2714. Continued: Every year, more municipalities continue to go in different directions from PSI, either changing contractors, or what we are proposing, performing EMS services in house to save massive amounts of tax payer money. For profit EMS has one main goal, to turn massive profits at the expense of emergency services. We offer an alternate vision, one free of the restraints of lawsuits and pending litigation. A vision where the Village works as hard to keep their Firefighters employees as much as how hard they are fighting to provide pay to play donors lucrative contracts. Our vision is cost saving and beneficial to the tax payer with what we consider to be a higher level of care and a higher level of commitment to the resident. When EMS providers become the largest political donors, who's interests do they serve the most ? **End of Shared FB Post** The FB page continually has a lot of information and is an excellent source...

From the North Riverside Firefighters Local 2714 FB Page: "Since 2014, North Riverside has seen its rate for paramedic services jump by about 14 percent (to $517,000) By contrast, the village of Riverside, which also uses PSI as its paramedic contractor, has budgeted paying the company $455,120 in 2019. Despite the fact that Riverside has a larger population and a more difficult street system to navigate, that rate has risen by just 1 percent since 2014." PSI's EMS contract remains the largest contractual budget item and they also remain the Mayors political party's largest donor.Over 30 years of pay to play politics and just now a bidding process begins? We feel this farce request for proposal is outlined in PSI's favor to eliminate competition and only appear to be a fair bidding process. we will not be the slightest bit surprised when PSI is awarded the contract again regardless of lower bids from other companies. Only then PSI will be rewarded again with...

So....now you're ok with not terminating a contract after it's expired?

Here is a noble concept. Get rid of PSI and use the certified and tested firefighters that you already paying for.

Carey corn is so deliciously addictive. Perfectly popped and seasoned. We buy it all the time and everyone we have shared it with is in love with it. Liz is such a friendly lady too that we never go to the market without stopping at the Carey Corn booth and buying our favorite snack and chatting a bit with her. Try it, you will love it!!!

Thank you Mr. Culloden, your comment about the Purvin house brought a smile to Ted's face and all of the Purvin children. Judy and I have lived in "the Kelly house" on Lawton Road since 1968. It is one of the joys of living in this community.
