Be a garden groomer With many teenagers unable to land summer jobs and looking for something to occupy their time, the Frederick Law Olmsted Society is offering a "Garden Groomer" certificate course to those 16 to 18 years old. The course, available through the society's website (olmstedsociety.org) includes both online and hands-on training and will focus on how to maintain a garden naturally, without electronic or gas-powered tools.

Libraries launch curbside service Beginning Wednesday, June 3, Brookfield Public Library, 3609 Grand Blvd., and Riverside Public Library, 1 Burling Road, begin touchless curbside pickup of library materials. At this time, items are limited to the libraries' collections only.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for the Des Plaines River between Roosevelt Road in Forest Park on the north and Hodgkins on the south. The river is expected to crest in Riverside at nearly 7.3 feet by Friday morning.
